This DVD holds three films about how children and young people grieve. They offer children recognition, insight and comfort, and they give adults and professionals something to work with.
Wanneer wordt het weer leuk? is a documentary about eight-year-old Tijmen, who suddenly lost his father. He receives grief therapy from Tineke van Assedonk. Eleven-year-old Renske lost her father after a long illness, and was still able to do good things together with him. (Teleac) Also suitable for classroom use.
Het Gevoel van Allerzielen is a documentary about two teenagers, Anne and Bram, and the way they deal with losing someone close to them. Anne’s father took his own life; Bram’s eldest brother died suddenly. (KRO) Also suitable for classroom use.
The educational film for adults and professionals is aimed at anyone who works with children, professionally or otherwise. It centres on how children experience loss and how they grieve, and includes practical tips and protocols. Suitable for parents, teachers, care workers and funeral professionals, among others.
